At the inn, there are two popular restaurants, The Barley Room with casual pub/bistro dining and live music, and Amelia’s Garden Restaurant; a celebration of seasonal and regional cuisine. Our beautiful gardens and large banquet hall make us a sought after destination for meetings, weddings and special events. Our cookery school gives guests and locals alike a chance to learn culinary secrets served up with fun by our professional cookery school chef.
The Waring House offers unique rooms, furnished and decorated to reflect the period when the property was first built ñ the 19th century. We are proud to be an environmentally conscious property.
Cookery School
Learn by experience! The Waring House’s recreational cooking classes are suitable for all levels of cooking expertise, will expand your culinary repertoire, and teach you new tricks and chef techniques.
Each class features a particular culinary technique, type of food, region, ingredient or theme. For example, different classes cover comfort foods, Indian food, cooking with strawberries, or home smoking. Many of our classes cover cooking dishes with fresh, local ingredients ó some picked that day at farms just down the road from the cookery school.
The Barley Room – The Country’s Gathering Place
The Barley Room, Prince Edward County’s gastropub, offers friendly service, great food and drink and live music 5 nights of the week ó Wednesday to Sunday.
Amelia’s Garden
Amelia’s Garden is seasonal dining at its best. With many ingredients supplied by local food producers, Amelia’s Garden is a taste of the best Prince Edward County has to offer. The focus on local ingredients doesn’t mean that the menu is ordinary. Our team adds international flair, fusing different cuisines from around the world.
